University of Nevada, Reno wanted to upgrade housing options for graduate students while preserving the University’s debt capacity. Balfour Beatty presented a solution to design, build, finance and manage the complex through a long term ground lease from the University. The P3 tripled the amount of available housing and amenities available to support the needs of today’s graduate students as well as their families.

Structuring this community with signature mountain views provides graduate students with the peaceful, private lifestyle they desire. Designed to provide a restful, intimate space for graduate students while reclaiming a former brownfield site, the development includes one-and two-bedroom units in six, three-story buildings with a central courtyard and separate community center. Attractively finished and equipped with modern kitchens, the new apartments provide a competitive on-campus alternative to the market-rate housing available nearby.
