The University of Iowa wanted to bring new, modern graduate and family apartment-style housing online faster and at a lower cost than traditionally financed construction without incurring new debt. New housing needed to foster a sense of community and encourage interaction among residents, accommodating the needs of today’s students and to attract and retain graduates in a way that the old residences could not. Knowing P3 would help the University meet its needs, Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions financed, developed, and built the project, bringing it online one year earlier than traditional methods would have allowed.

The five-building apartment complex consists of one and two-bedroom apartments surrounding a central park. A separate 5,400 SF student center provides fitness facilities, multi-purpose spaces, laundry facilities, bus stop, and a dedicated mail area. The community is pet friendly and features a dog park and walking/biking trails.
