Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, a leading developer and operator of infrastructure projects for the college and university market, announced today it has promoted two of its executives to more senior roles in the growing organization. Steve Nonnemaker has been promoted to senior vice president and will oversee and continue to advance the company’s development services function. Josh Smith has been promoted to senior vice president and will have general responsibility for business development as well as the company’s marketing and brand.

The realignment in roles was driven by the company’s significant growth in recent years and recognizes the important contributions both Nonnemaker and Smith have made to that success. As part of the realignment, Jim Short will remain senior vice president and assume lead responsibilities for the company’s asset management and property management functions in addition to his business development activities.

“Both Steve and Josh are proven leaders in their respective fields who have been instrumental in building relationships and successfully delivering on an expansive portfolio of campus development projects for our business,” said Bob Shepko, president of Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions. “Their collective knowledge, communication and collaboration skills and overall management expertise will continue to serve our clients well.”

With more than 15 years of industry experience, Mr. Nonnemaker has managed a wide variety of complex real estate development projects across multiple sectors. Over the past year he has managed the on time and on budget delivery of three dynamic student housing projects and currently oversees five projects in both pre-construction and construction phases.

Mr. Smith is a veteran of the higher education development sector with a background that includes business development, real estate development and project management. He is actively involved in the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) and the Association of College and University Housing Officers (ACUHO).
